1: The Gyre

Most people want to consume without considering the consequences. The floating continent of rubbish in the North Pacific Gyre will be one of our lasting monuments, outliving concrete and steel structures—probably even the pyramids. Problematize this and results could be made, but that would require a critical look into the fundamental elements of the modern way of life, and that’s just too hard for most people, who would rather fantasize that billions of “eco-friendly” products and recycling will lead them to salvation (or at least alleviate their guilt for a while). The problem is too hard to solve anyway, which is a relief. Back to the TV!
